EMBERBOUND: Ashes of the Hush

The Ember has gone cold, and the Hush is spreading through the ashlands. You wake with a spark of it inside you, and the town of Emberhold needs someone who can still burn.

EMBERBOUND: Ashes of the Hush is a real-time 3D action RPG for adults, set in a dark-fantasy world of ash, fen and fire. Fight your way through it, forge your gear, win the trust of the Kindred, and decide for yourself how close you get.

REAL-TIME COMBAT

Dodge, strike and cast in real time. Bosses and heavy enemies telegraph their attacks, hold their ground and hit back, so you learn their patterns, roll clear and answer with the skills you put on your bar. Choose Normal, Hard or Ember difficulty when you start a new game.

FORGE YOUR BUILD

New skills land on your bar as you level, and you decide which ones stay there. Forge and salvage your equipment, enchant your weapon with fire, frost, lightning or arcane, and wear full armor sets that change how your hero looks. Gear has level requirements, so every upgrade is one you earned.

THE KINDRED

Seven companions, each with her own story and her own reasons. Vess, the cinder-smith with a forge burning under her obsidian skin. Bryga, last warden of a clan the Hush turned to stone. Isolde, half living violet and half grey stone. Kit, a fox-tailed broker of secrets. Maren, whose voice was stolen and who speaks in light written on the air. Saela, the moth of the Archive. Rhoswen, a cantor sworn to burn desire out of the world.

They have a will of their own. Earn their trust and they follow you into the field and fight beside you with their own fighting style and skills. Vess is the first to join you; the others join as the story goes on.

On the road you have a guide: Nyra, a path-keeper who knows every trail the Hush has not yet swallowed. She asks for nothing she will not say out loud. Not everyone who walks beside you wants the same road.

A WORLD UNDER THE HUSH

Set out from the forge-town of Emberhold into burning villages, ashen wastes, drowned fens and the hollow under the waystone. Light the dead waystones to push the grey of the Hush back, tear a portal scroll to burn a rift home, and stash what you find in your vault.

ADULT CONTENT, YOUR WAY

EMBERBOUND contains explicit sex scenes between adult characters, told as illustrated and animated scenes you play through.

• Every scene is optional and asks you first. Nothing starts until you say yes in the dialogue, and saying no never stops the story or your progress.

• Inside a scene you choose where it goes, and you can leave at any moment.

• Your companions' scenes are with you alone. The one group scene belongs to Nyra, your guide, who is not a companion: you choose whether to stay, watch and join. Say no, and she leaves and the night never happens.

• Light spanking appears in one scene, only as a clearly marked choice you can pass by.

• An adult-off setting hides every explicit scene and tones down explicit dialogue.
